AI Detection

There are applications called AI detectors. I tried using one

https://www.grammarly.com/ai-detector

My first test was taking the middle paragraph of my previous post about Prompting. I put it through the scanner and had a clean scan:

My second test was to ask ChatGPT to write a “short paragraph about AI prompting”. This was the Grammarly scan result:

Of course this was 100% AI generated.

Next I used https://gptzero.me/ and conducted the same test. The results were the ChatGPT generated paragraph was “highly confident” to be AI generated or 100% whereas my paragraph was 100% human. It also gave a note about being less accurate with less than 100 words.

Here’s another resource that I didn’t try but probably will at some point.

My impression is that these detectors can be helpful if someone were interested in detecting if something is AI generated or not. I have to do more testing to see which is more effective for my own purposes. I don’t know how relevant it is for my particular role as a Finance professional. It seems, it would be more useful for Educators or Hiring professionals. However, in my quest and desire to become more knowledgeable and ultimately more valuable I need to continue to learn as much as I can.

thanks for clearing that up! I didn’t really understand what a “detector” could be used for!
