Self reflection….

Since I started writing this blog and up until now, I’ve taken all opportunities to try and learn about AI. It has been very interesting and helpful.

Throughout my exploration, I’ve used ChatGPT and Copilot. This is primarily due to my employer and my interaction with AI is primarily for work purposes.

What’s ahead? First of all, as I learn more and my anxieties have somewhat declined, I’m still going to learn as much as I can. The technology is advancing so rapidly and I’m trying to remain valuable to my employer by becoming a champion of the technology, at least in the finance area.

Additionally, I’m going to start using Anthropics Claude technology because I want to expand my base knowledge. My employer is also going to start using it because it integrates with our existing systems. I also like Anthropics attempts at transparency of what AI technology can lead to and it’s attempt to promote guardrails for safety purposes.

Another area of my focus will be to try and get my head around AI Agents. Agents are more autonomous “programs” that will run tasks and then learn from them to improve accuracy and efficiency. This is in contrast to ChatBot prompting models that we’re all familiar with. I will be posting more about this topic as I’m still doing some research.

Finally, as I become more adept with artificial intelligence, I plan to incorporate it into my daily life both personally and professionally. I won’t be able to avoid it though. It will be in everything….if it’s not already. I think the most useful thing I learned is what I shared in last week’s post. The “ten commandments of AI technology”. The very first point was to not “outsource my soul”. Use AI to enhance, not replace. Such good advice.
