Some practical use of AI:
- I asked Claude to search my Outlook for an email from a coworker and to retrieve the PowerPoint slides. It returned the proper email and summarized each of the attachments so I could easily find what I wanted.
- I asked to find 2 specific documents in Wrike and again found the documents and summarized each to ensure that I chose the correct one
- I needed to quickly find a specific number from an email that I received from a vendor. So I asked Copilot in Outlook for the specific information and it found it and summarized the full related email. I guess I could have searched the sender, estimated when I thought I received it, opened it up and scanned for the information. But I didn’t have to because I continued working on something else while Copilot found exactly what I needed.
- Created the follow up activation letter (after an AI created intro letter referenced in a previous post). This is obvious, but I keep forgetting to do it. I should continue to prompt Claude to make corrections and changes instead of me doing it after cutting and pasting in a document.
- Recorded a Zoom call meeting to test how Claude would prepare a recap. This is a tricky one and I’m still working with it. Zoom has to be recording and you have to notify the other members of the meeting up front. Which is okay, but for some might be awkward. I experimented with a partial call and it did prepare a decent recap so it works. There’s another way to NOT record and have Zoom in effect “listen”. This is in the Zoom settings but the laws state that you need to notify the other participants, the same as you would as if recording.
As always, remember to review the work output from AI. Ultimately, you are responsible for the content.
Have a great day!
